Chief Editor’s Blog

Our home page focuses on mothers, camps, and education about epilepsy. You will see new video clip in which mothers talk about epilepsy, a short piece from the the film: Childhood Epilepsy. And there is a story about the heroic mothers whom we have interviewed which begins, "In the foreword to Epilepsy on Our Terms: Stories by Children with Seizures and Their Parents (The Brainstorms Series) Jamie Lyn Bauer, star of 'The Young and the Restless' and 'Days of Our Lives,' writes 'When my son developed epilepsy, I grieved over the loss of his potential and the physical, mental, and emotional pain he had to endure. I grieved over the loss of quality time with my other children. I was overwhelmed by the responsibility of managing everything alone.' "

We hope that this month's news will be a message to mothers and to fathers, that we at epilepsy.com have created a community of support for you, for your children, for your family so that you will never have to feel alone.

The Brainstrorm Series, has helped many families and we are excited that these books that I have edited with colleagues have been reissued through Oxford University Press.
